Heads of departments of France, including overseas departments.

The office is called President of the General council (Président du conseil général) until 2015, and President of the Departmental council (Président du conseil départemental) afterwards.

However, some departments with the special status of single territorial collectivity have split since ca. 2015 the previous role of the presidents of the general/departmental and regional councils in other offices: President of the Executive Council (Président du conseil exécutif) and President of the Assembly (Président de l'Assemblée).
