This category was nominated for deletion on 24 April 2017. The result of the discussion was rename and repurpose as Category:Advocates of unschooling and homeschooling.

Renamed[edit]

@StAnselm, Swpb, Peterkingiron, and Marcocapelle: I renamed this following the suggestion at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2017 April 24, but there is already a Category:Homeschooling advocates which contains many of the same member pages. How about Category:Unschooling advocates to complement it, or Category:Alternative education advocates / Category:Alternative education activists? – Fayenatic London 17:47, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Fayenatic london: I would recommend keeping the categories as they are, because most unschooling are advocates are also homeschooling advocates. But move people who aren't unschooling advocates from Category:Advocates of unschooling and homeschooling to Category:Homeschooling advocates. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:52, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- I am happy with the outcome. The article on Unschooling indicates a distinction made among advocates between unschooling and homeschooling, to that creating Category:Unschooling advocates and moving those who promote this (as opposed to "school at home") might be appropriate.
