There is a song known as Mammy's Little Baby or Shortnin' Bread, or by several other derivatives, but there is no article for it.

"Folk songs" has a very specific meaning[edit]

See Folk_song#Defining_folk_song.

A song by a folk artist is not necessarily a folk song. I'm going to boldly delete all the subcategories that refer to specific, contemporary singers. I would suggest adding them to some other category.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 19:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good idea, but it seems not to have survived. There are songs by Fleet Foxes here, for pete's sake. Is it worth trying this again? RobHutten (talk) 19:16, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
