Birmingham School of Art categories[edit]

There are various categories relating to Birmingham School of Art (and I have just created another one) and I suggest they should all be given the current name (since 2014), Birmingham City Faculty of Arts, Design and Media. I would not suggest renaming the article Birmingham School of Art as it still refers to a building. Pinging the category creators.

Any alternative suggestions are welcome. TSventon (talk) 11:31, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Given that (at least) Birmingham School of Art (which is about the school ,not just the building) and Birmingham Institute of Art and Design have separate articles (the latter via a redirect), I oppose' a conflation of their respective categories. User:Pigsonthewing, the article and category with content seem to be conflated already.
  • The "Birmingham School of Art" article covers the history from the Birmingham Government School of Design in 1843 to Birmingham City Faculty of Arts, Design and Media in 2014, while "Birmingham Institute of Art and Design" is only a redirect.
  • "Alumni of Birmingham Institute of Art and Design" (87 articles) is mostly alumni of Birmingham School of Art based on the first 10 names, but also includes five alumni listed in Bournville Centre for Visual Arts.
  • The other three categories have three articles between them. TSventon (talk) 16:31, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Pigsonthewing, I have moved alumni from BIAD to Birmingham School and Bournville College alumni categories so the categories should no longer overlap. TSventon (talk) 11:05, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
