Criteria

I'm not sure whether this category is a great idea, since musicals can be mounted anywhere, not necessarily on Broadway. I am trying to restrict it to shows which either originated on Broadway or moved there from an Off-Broadway theater in NYC, or originated outside New York, but were perhaps thought of as Broadway shows from the beginning - see Kismet (musical), for example, which was part of a string of operettas which originated in Los Angeles and then moved to Broadway. I have excluded a few shows which originated in London or Paris, had long runs there, and came to Broadway later, even if they won a Tony when they opened on Broadway. "Your mileage may vary."
