comments from Category:Indos[edit]

Would support to merge the category 'Indonesian-Dutch People' into the category 'Indos' as the definition of the latter is much broader (In the sense that it does not confine the category to Dutch only. But includes all European ethnic groups). See the Indo (Eurasian) article header :

Indo, Indo-European or Eurasian is a term used to describe people of mixed European and Indonesian ancestry...

...In contemporary Indonesia the term Indo is not confined to former inhabitants of the Dutch East Indies, but includes all people of a mixed European and Indonesian background.

Believe the broader definition would create a more comprehensive list.

Note: Very recently user Krator deleted an even more comprehensive list in the actual article, which had sub-divisions and even included names that were still lacking corresponding wiki articles. Not sure the reasons for deletion are valid, as it is obviously common practice to compile names by ethnicity in Wikipedia. However agree doing this by using the category functionality seems more structured.

Hope my remarks make sense. Kind regards, JAGO It's just HIS story... 02:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesian descent?[edit]

There must be some people not belonging to this category. Exactly how is for example Georgina Verbaan Indonesian? There was nothing about that on her page, and she doesn't look like Indonesian. Don't know how many others could be wrong, I only checked a few somehow familiar names. 82.141.127.5 (talk) 14:06, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
