Just one thing I'm wondering about: is the qualifier "fictional" really necessary? I mean, how many "real" werewolves are there?

It might be better worded as "Werewolves in Fiction". -Xinoph 06:44, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Or just "Werewolves". Unless we were to segregate between werewolves in fiction (movies, tv shows, etc.) and those of folk legend. That distinction seems unnecessary though. The topic is just not that extensive. Obviously, I support renaming the category. Regards, Redux 21:11, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The whole point of this category, and all of the other "fictional [legendary creature]" categories, is to separate fiction and legend. Merging the categories blurs the distinction between articles on actual beliefs and those on modern works of fiction. -Sean Curtin 23:33, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Addition[edit]

Stephen King's character Wolf, from "The Talisman" isn't currently listed. He doesn't have his own page, but a link to The Talisman could be given.

the Wolfman aka Lawrence Talbot[edit]

there are so many missing werewolves here...

and fictional werewolves should be a seperate category from folklore and myth - and fact. Just because people *now* do not believe does not negate the various trials and documented sightings in the pre-industrial world. I am not saying 'dude! werewolves are real!' i am saying they were once accepted and treated as real and there are realworld stories about them that are quite different from modern fiction.
