Proper parent category[edit]

I created this category to replace a miscapitalized "Category:Time Travel films", but didn't think about the problems of supercategorization until after I'd done this. I originally thought to change time-travel films' genre category from Category:Science fiction films to this one, but then I remembered Somewhere in Time, which is fantasy, not SF. That brought up the question of what this category's parent should be. I started thinking about how included themes might be different from general genres (e.g., Time Bandits is a fantasy/comedy film that happens to include time travel as a supporting theme), and decided I made a mistake even trying to fix this problem. (I should have just nominated the old category for speedy renaming, which would have garnered the attention of category mavens who were more prepared to consider the larger situation.) For now, I've just added this to Category:Films by genre. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 19:15, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There certainly isn't much science in Time Bandits, so the current kind of categorization is probably suitable enough for the present.

Has anyone seen this film?[edit]

I remember seeing a movie as a child (1970's-1980's film)... about a man whose wife died in a snowy car accident. I think the man ran a boarding house. Some guests arrive to watch some event. The guests were time traveller's who travelled in time through a credit card like passport. The man somehow ended up with one. In the last scene, the man is with his wife who is playing the piano. Does anyone remember this show?

Answer: I think you mean 'Grand Tour - Disaster in Time' (1992) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.15.146.174 (talk) 22:42, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a great anime called Zipang from 2004. Its almost like the movie final countdown but from a Japanese perspective. I rate it as one of the best time traveling shows ever. But Im unsure if I should add it due to being a series and on this page there are only films. Check it out if you can get you hands on it. Japanese sounds with english text is recomended since the dub sux. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.113.61 (talk) 23:59, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest that this be reorganised[edit]

I don't want to say this page is unusable, but it is close to. The premise is that when you are looking for a time travel film you rarely know the title, especially if you are looking for something new. So spending hours clicking on each link is really mind numbing and you quickly realise that this format just does not work.

I suggest that the pages be reorganised so list each film by year of release with a short description. This achieves a couple of winds, one the relevance to modern thoughts and secondly the plot summary would allow skimming and would make this infinitely more useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adel314 (talkcontribs) 16:08, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
