Hang on[edit]

Can anyone show me what used to be in this long-established category? User:Wiki-uk has embarked on a series of drastic and undiscussed chganges to articles & categories on Indian art, most of which seem ill-advised to me. Johnbod (talk) 14:23, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What should be here?[edit]

There were just a few pages here, for example those that are now in Category:Indian sandpainting. I had removed them from here, as it was as good as empty, and more confusing than helpful. My question is: which categories should come under this category 'Genres of Indian art'? Wiki-uk (talk) 06:40, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good question - I wasn't sure what was here before, which only an admin can tell. Maybe the category isn't needed, but with the schools of painting sub-cat, the sandpainting, & some other craft-type ones it might be useful, especially if we erver develop proper coverage in this area. At the moment we have several by state "Arts of..." categories, which are fine, but really visual art should be separated from dance, literature etc. This category may be one way to do that, or setting up sub-cats.
