Really broad definition of HIV/AIDS activists[edit]
Why are people like Princess Diana and Kirsten Dunst categorized as HIV/AIDS activists? Can I remove them from the HIV/AIDS activists category, or delete "HIV/AIDS activists" as a category on their individual pages? It is not honest.

I'm Denise Stokes. I was infected with HIV in 1983 as a 13 years old virgin, and after being left homeless from stigma, began to work as an advocate in 1988. I was one of the first 5 people President Clinton appointed to the first HIV/AIDS Advisory Council. I consulted on and appeared in Americas FIRST PSA Response to AIDS. I have been a 100% dedicated AIDS Advocate for 31 years now and love reaching people to help, not hearing my name. BUT - BECAUSE I was infected in 83, have lived WITH this disease for 36 years, AND have stood on the frontline of HIV/AIDS Education in this country for 32 years consecutively - WHY AM I NOT EVEN LISTED HERE??? Where were ALL of these other Advocates in 1983, 84, 89, 91, 93 when I helped shape some of the WORLD'S FIRST HIV POLICY - you wont even LIST ME?? I did it for LIVES, not accolades, but JUST because I don' have PR you don't even LIST me. I am FIFTY now - STILL advocating and I was 13. Don't you get how AWFUL it is top LEAVE OUT a 13 year old kid who the world told to DROP DEAD and I HELPED SHAPE THE CHANGE!! Sorry I'm not POPULAR BUT AIDS WAS NOT. Do you know HOW many times GROWN MEN SPIT ON ME FOR HAVING AIDS BEFORE Being an AIDS Poster Child Became Popular?? I HATE THIS!! Popular and Unpopular is what MADE HIV SPREAD so terribly and be IGNORED for so many YEARS! So I get to do the HARD work when we had NO MEDS, NO Disability Laws covering us and instead of BLENDING and JUST disclosing my status to my Doc and Mate, I share MY LIFE with the WORLD and don't marry, don't have kids, don't have insurance, don't have retirement benefits or even regular salary - and NO One EVEN thinks to ADD DENISE STOKES to a SIMPLE AIDS Advocates List??? Do you know how many LAWS, PROGRAMS, AND PROTOCOLS WERE CREATED AT MY ADVISEMENT? No, I guess not because I don't have the corporate backing or the Hollywood connection. Yeah , I just GOT it and have been SERVING MY WHOLE LIFE in lieu of MY OWN DREAMS to SAVE LIVES and you SLIGHT A SURVIVOR and ADVOCATE FROM THE BEGINNING of the AIDS EPIDEMIC by NOT GIVING ME THE DAMN TITLE THAT DEFINES MY ENTIRE FIGHT?? We are SO surface but my SOUL is HURT by this. You ever had anyone pour mock blood on you because you FINALLY have the President's Ear but so many lives were ALREADY LOST all they had to blame was the Little Girl Trying to SAVE PEOPLE from the HORRIBLE DEATH they WROTE YOU OFF TO - WITH LOVE and for NO MONEY?? Yeah, I guess I SHOULD have "charged" a fee so I'd be listed as a REAL Advocate here too... UNBELIEVABLE. WHAT did most even KNOW about AIDS in 1983 less more have to face it and FIGHT FOR a LIFE everyone told you was wasted and damned.... A SICKENING Account of my history where i have been left OUT!
