In order for this category to fufill its purpose, the categories of islands by individual European countries should be included as subcategories. - Gilliam 09:22, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure but creator of this cat is inconsistent. :( - Darwinek 11:13, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have not been inconsistent here. See my reply to Darwinek in my talk page User talk:Bardsandwarriors. I had no intention of populating Category:Islands by continent with individual countries. Darwinkey, you seem to have assumed this is the right way to proceed. There is already a classification by country in Category:Islands by country. Putting countries into the continental cats is ok by me. However, my intention was to return to the continental categories later, and re-sort them according to features of physical geography, eg - mountain ranges (where a range extends into the sea, creating islands and fjords); coastal plains (where they break up as the land sinks, creating coastal islands), volcanic island arcs (already a subcategory, which could be incorporated), and other such things. I have not yet thought this through indepth, and would welcome discussion on how to proceed, as my plans are not set in stone. Bards 12:01, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
