Concerns with this category[edit]

Wikipedia should not be labeling anyone as LGBT unless that person has identified as LGBT. Great care should be taken to make sure that every person in this category or any sub-category has in fact identified as LGBT, and if they have not, their names should be removed from this category. --PluniaZ (talk) 03:13, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Categories for discussion is for such a discussion actually.--Mark Miller (talk) 04:33, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder of Wikipedia's policy for placing a person in an LGBT category[edit]

You can find Wikipedia's policy for placing a person in an LGBT category here: Wikipedia:Categorization/Ethnicity,_gender,_religion_and_sexuality#Sexuality.

Note that for a living person, the person must have publicly identified with the belief or orientation in question.

For deceased persons, there must be a verified consensus of reliable published sources that the description is appropriate. --PluniaZ (talk) 05:16, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
