A favorite hobbyhorse in Wagner's Mein Leben is how other conductors overlook the tempo di minuetto marking in Beethoven's 8th Symphony and take the 3rd movement as a walz. I'm a little astonished that Symphony No. 8 (Beethoven) doesn't give the figures and that there isn't an article already on various studies around the controversies. I don't think that raising this matter here will get a wide readership. Talk:Symphony No. 8 (Beethoven) or Talk:Ludwig van Beethoven seem better venues. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 01:53, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This certainly does not require its own article. A better venue for remarks on Beethoven's approach to tempo and metronome marking is the article "Beethoven's musical style" — SaryaniPaschtorr (talk) 21:12, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
