Animal tales and Fables[edit]

The category prefaces should say more about the distinctions among categories Fables, Animal tales, and Novels about animals including its presumably subset Children's novels about animals.

For example: Fables are folklore; Animal tales are literature other than novels (short fiction primarily?), without regard to the audience.

But Category:Animal tales, whose preface is simply "See also: Category:Fables and Category:Novels about animals", is tagged with talk banner {{WP Children's lit}} only. --P64 (talk) 02:35, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

By the way and offhand, I suppose these distinctions are not so imporatant as to distinguish realistic fiction featuring animals (purposefully realistic although naturalists may dispute the success) from fiction with anthropomorphic animal characters. --P64 (talk) 02:32, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
