For consideration: I see Animal tales as being for short stories, traditional tales and picture books about animals, and while some pony books might be collections of short stories, most of the books in this category are novels or novel series. Robina Fox (talk) 19:25, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: This is a specific genre of children's literature, in particular Pony books are, essentially, romanticized, simple stories about horses or ponies. We also have Category:Novels about horses, of which this is a subcat. I see no need to delete or merge. If there are some non-horse books in the category, then fix that. Frankly, to merge all the animal categories into one would make a mega-category with probably hundreds of books. I'm not seeing the logic here. Montanabw(talk) 04:39, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
