Rathfelder, the Prince-Bishopric of Liège was a territory that had Liège as its capital. Having "Prince-Bishopric of Liège musicians" as a subcategory of "Musicians from Liège" is like having "English musicians" a subcategory of "Musicians from London": it makes the geographically wider category a subset of the geographically narrower. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 14:08, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes I see the problem. But I was trying to link the earlier musicians to the more modern one. Have you a better suggestion? Rathfelder (talk) 15:49, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What do we do with medieval England or Scotland? I don't imagine we make the kingdom a subset of the capital. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 16:19, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I have checked quickly and William Byrd, for example, comes under "17th-century English musicians" and "Musicians from London" which are two distinct category trees (one going back to "English musicians by locality" and one going back to "English musicians by century", only uniting at "English musicians").--Andreas Philopater (talk) 16:32, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
