How will people know this is the Italian Navy?[edit]

Why on the English-language Wiki have we changed "United States Navy ships transferred to the Italian Navy" to "United States Navy ships transferred to the Marina Militare"? "Marina Militaire" is not in common use among English speakers, and only someone who speaks Italian will know that this means "the Navy." And that's all it means, with no nationality specified; in Italian, other countries also have a "Marina Militaire." I think we are being far too purist here. How are English speakers going to find transfers to the Italy's navy unless they see the words Italian Navy somewhere? This needs to made accessible to them. If we must use "Marina Militaire," can't we say "Marina Militaire (Italian Navy)" or something like that? Mdnavman (talk) 04:41, 30 August 2009 (UTC)mdnavman[reply]

Note also that "Marina Militaire" now appears under "I" instead of "M", although this error at least gives a little hint that maybe Italy is involved somehow. Mdnavman (talk) 04:51, 30 August 2009 (UTC)mdnavman[reply]
