Merging into Category:Writing systems[edit]

There exists the Category:Writing systems; I'm not sure what justification there is for a category below that category that specifies to be a category of *elements* of the category "writing systems", especially since the kind of articles listed in "types of writing systems" seems to me to be interchangeable with the kind of articles listed in "writing systems": "Category:Abjad writing systems" is listed in "Types of writing systems", while "Category:Mesoamerican writing systems" is merely an instance of "Writing systems", but not of "Types of writing systems" - the categories, even if they both have a justification for their existence, should, at minimum, be functionally differentiated in their contents, which implies a recategorization of much of the content of either of them. --Halemyu (talk) 20:32, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Post scriptum: I realize that "Mesoamerican" is a geographical categorization, whereas "Abjad" concerns the collation, but I find that that if this is the rationale behind considering "Abjad writing systems" a "type" of writing system, whereas "mesoamerican writing systems" merely a subset of "writing systems", then the entire categorization should be re-organized into a category "Writing systems by geographical origin" and a category "Writing systems by collation" or similar - considering one more of a "type" than the other does not seem to be justified - they are both subsets of "Writing systems", defined by different attributes. --Halemyu (talk) 20:38, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
