Unincorporated Communities[edit]

According to this category, the entire state of Florida has one (1) category with uneder 65unincorporated communities..........We might want to take a peek at the catagories on some communities in FL..Coal town guy (talk) 18:10, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Categories or subcategories[edit]

So... there's been a debate going on in NJ for a while about whether unincorporated communities should be in the state cat or county sub-cats... is there any sort of consensus in "thought" (as opposed to practice).Famartin (talk) 16:09, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The best way to look at it is that when the reader is searching for a place, they can search by using the sub-category or the parent. If they are not familiar with what county it is located in, then they can search in the large batch..in the parent category (even if a state has 1,000+ pages). Another flaw (maybe a little off topic, but..) in this project is that NJ only has sub-categories for Townships, Boroughs, Cities, etc..for instance.."Townships in __County, NJ"..and not just the "Townships in NJ" category. Same kinda deal. New York has the Hamlets in NY category, which is similar to the parent of Unincorporated communities in NY category. I have tried to condense them into the Hamlets category.
