Michigan has 19 constituent schools and colleges. It would take many hundreds of hours to determine whether or not a given student attended a given school or college. It might take even longer in that the school or college attended is often not in the public domain and the school or college or living family would have to be contacted to make a determination.

For those reasons, I suggest that the few students categorized back into the category "University of Michigan alumni" until a more workable approach to classification is arrived at. Bluedudemi (talk) 02:13, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bluedudemi: It's very rare to have discussions on the talk pages of categories. You may wish to take your concerns to WP:CFD. Let me know if you need help. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:56, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Justin: thanks for the heads-up. I've moved my entry from the talk page to the sub-portion of the CFD page which seems to address the concept of changing names and merging and so on. Hopefully, I did that in the right ballpark. Thanks again for the suggestion Bluedudemi (talk) 15:24, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
