Celebration Plaza[edit]

Or Celebration Plaza, which is its proper name; the title's meaning is Celebration Plaza in Whistler which of course isn't a good title. I'd only dimlly known about it but it's definitely a venue (where medals were to be handed out, and a shared role in the opening/closing ceremonies...noting in passing that the site is in the shared territories of the Lil'wat and Skwxwu7mesh, who are co-hosts of the event with Vancouver and Whistler...I didn't know much but it seems it may have a different kind of notability also, perhaps mostly because it won't get built and ditto the Paralympics hockey arena originally planned for the site see here; a local environmental issue already by the sound of it. Also just as a request Whistler Olympic Village needs an article thanks.Skookum1 (talk) 00:10, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
