On December 26th 2023, a fire broke out at the Ferma Dacilor guesthouse in Tohani, Prahova County, Romania. 26 people were in the guesthouse, of whom 8 were initially declared missing. Of those 8, 3 were found dead, two adults and one child. There were also 2 minor injuries, a 48-year-old woman and a 16-year-old teenager. 5 people remain missing.[1]

The Red Plan was activated at 6:29 and reportedly deactivated around 8. The fire engulfed the entire building. Search-and-rescue teams have been set up by firefighters. The guesthouse, serving as both a restaurant and a hotel, did not have fire safety approval from the local fire-fighting institution, the Prahova Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.[2]
