The American School of Puerto Vallarta (Spanish: Colegio Americano de Puerto Vallarta) is a private school serving students in kindergarten through grade 12 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is a nonprofit institution accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools, Cognia (education), the Secretariat of Public Education (Mexico) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico..[1]
Events[edit]
The school organizes an international College Fair, attracting universities from all around the world. The yearly event is open to the public.[2][3] Students in the school participate in the Model United Nations, VAMUN.[4]
The school has historically put on shows open to the general public. The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra School, and the local ballet academy Arte, Danza y Cultura have presented at the school's premises.[5][6]
Community Service[edit]
High-school students in the school participate in the National Honor Society (NHS). NHS students at the school administer a community service program to take books to rural Mexican schools in the vicinity.[7] The school also donates books to local libraries.[8]
