Common Sense for Animals, or CSA, is a NJ Non-Profit with 501c3 status.

Founded in 1991 by Robert R. Blease, the mission of Common Sense for Animals has been education, community service, and animal rescue. The "Common Sense" approach is the hallmark of CSA's approach to Animal Welfare.

Located in Warran County, New Jersey, CSA operates a no-kill animal shelter. CSA finds forever homes for over 1,200 animals a year that were surrendered, rescued, lost, or saved from termination out of other kill shelters.

Along with 1,200 adoptions a year, CSA also houses 125 animals in the current shelter facility. CSA has outgrown the current facility and is building a new shelter to house more animals, perform more community service, and exist in perpetuity as a standalone shelter.

The Common Sense for Animals Shelter is the most visible aspect CSA, but many other programs exist. CSA performs "Southern Puppy Rescue," where animals at kill shelters scheduled for termination are taken in by CSA, receive medical treatment, and find forever homes out of the CSA shelter. CSA has performed "Pet Therapy" by taking animals to visit care facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals. Also, CSA has performed low-cost spay and neuter campaigns. CSA works closely with animal control officers and has been instrumental in successful trap neuter and release campaigns.

Those looking to support CSA can do so from the website, where information can be found about CSA, volunteering, donating, and the new shelter build.
