Devie Neithiyar is an Indian musician, who has been singing since the age of three. She is the foster daughter of Dr. T V Gopalakrishnan. She is distinguished with a very versatile voice and has performed concerts in multiple genres - Classical (Carnatic and Hindustani), devotional, films, contemporary, jazz-fusion and folk.
Biography[edit]
She was born in an aristocratic family of Kerala to Subash Chandran and Soudamini Neithiyar. She was trained in the basics of singing by her mother. She later underwent serious training under Vidwan Nalleppilly Vaidyanathan.[1]
She was brought as the foster daughter of her Guru Padmabhushan Dr T V Gopalakrishnan. Following the Gurukula system of learning, she stayed with her Guru and completed her schooling and musical training simultaneously.
She has sung for various Indian music directors like Illayaraja, Deva, Vidhyasagar, S.A.RajKumar, Sirpy, Adhithyan, Bappi Lahiri etc.
Besides her career as a musician, she is also the Executive Director of the Academy of Indian Music & Arts (AIMA), founded by her Guru to propagate and preserve Indian music.[2]

Dr Devie Neithiyar is an Indian Musician, who has sung Indian classical, devotional and film songs and an accomplished Voice Expert. She is the premier disciple of Sangeeta Laya Samrat Dr T V Gopalakrishnan (Padma Bhushan Awardee).
She was born in an aristocratic family in Kerala, and started her training at three years of age, with Nadaswara Vidwan Shri.Nalleppilly Vaidyanathan. After winning in various competitions and festivals across India, she was taken into the wings of her Guru and Mentor, musical genius Dr T V Gopalakrishnan. She took up training under him at his Chennai residence and grew up as his foster daughter and beloved disciple.
Besides her artistic pursuits, she is also currently the Chief Executive Director of Dr TVG's Academy of Indian Music & Arts. This Instituion was the dream of her Guru Dr TVG and she has dedicated herself to its realisation. As the Director of AIMA, she has not only pioneered Indian Music educational norms, but also strived to make the lives of artists across the country better.
