Emanuel Casablanca (born November 8, 1983) is an American blues singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor and mixed-media artist. His debut album, Blood on My Hands, was released on August 19, 2020, and was nominated an Independent Blues Award. Casablanca's second album, Strung Out on Thrills will be released in January 2024.

Early life[edit][edit]

Casablanca was born and grew up in Brooklyn of New York City. Both his father and mother, Edward Terrell and Linda Gibson, are of African-American descent. In his childhood, his mother was a music teacher. Wilds attended and graduated from Morehouse College.

Music career[edit][edit]

In 2017, Casablanca signed with Ropeadope and released an EP, It's Getting Strange. In 2021, he left his contract with Ropeadope and signed a distribution deal with Vydia to release his debut LP, Blood on My Hands, in August 2022. The album that featured Eric Gales, Paul Gilbert, Albert Castiglia, Jimmy Carpenter, Kat Riggins and others.

His sophomore album, Strung Out on Thrills, will be released January 2024. The album includes Elliot Sharp, Joanna Connor, Popa Chubby, and more. Additionally, Casablanca has worked with bassist and producer Bill Laswell, drummer Daxx Nielsen of Cheap Trick, vocalist Bernard Fowler, Doug Wimbish of Living Colour, and others.

Acting career[edit][edit]

As of June 2023, Casablanca began filming his first lead role in a feature film, Mookie & Worm, an Onur Tukel film, which will debut in 2024.
