Hajara Ibrahim Ɗan'azumi (born 2005) is a Quran reciter from Gombe state, Nigeria.[1][2]
Early life and education[edit]
Ɗan'azumi was born in Tudun Wada, Bayan Gandu, Gombe State, Nigeria.
She attended Darul Arqam Academy, where she studied both primary and Islamic studies. Additionally, she attended Bin Malik Islamiyya, Abubakar Siddiq Islamic School all located in Gombe state. Currently, she is a 200-level Botany student at Gombe State University.[3]
Quran recitation[edit]
Ɗan'azumi has participated in numerous nationwide Quranic competitions. In 2015, she secured the 2nd position in the national Quranic competition held in Edo State. She achieved 3rd position in the national Quranic competition held in Katsina. In other competitions, she secured 4th and 5th positions in Lagos and Kano, respectively.[4]
In February 2024 she won the 18th edition of the Hashemite Jordan International Qur'anic Competition for Females, defeating 41 contestants from 39 countries.[4][5][6] For her win, Dan'azumi was granted a Hajj seat by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)[7][8][9] and was given scholarships to attend further schooling by Gombe State governor Inuwa Yahaya.[3]
