Helena Shuuladu (1925-2012) was a choir leader, composer, and lyricist.[1]
Career[edit]
She was one of the prominent Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) lyricists and composer. Her songs were included in Ehangano hymal.
Contribution to the Namibian liberation Struggle[edit]
and most of them were derived from the current pressuring situations of their time especially the time of the Liberation struggle of Namibia, from experienced difficulties, from reasons for gladness, or from other things.[2] One of these lyrics is the famous hymn Tate Kalunga, Eh 655 by Shuuladu.[3][4][5]
Some of her songs were printed in the choral collection Teimbiitezimbuka, which was published by ELCIN's music office in 1993.[6][7]
