Hormones is a quarterly peer-reviewed medical journal focusing in endocrinology and metabolic diseases research. Hormones was founded in 2002 as the official journal of the Hellenic Endocrine Society, the Greek society of endocrinology. Hormones is published by Springer Nature since 2018. Previously it was published independently by the Hellenic Endocrine society.[1] As of February 2023, the journal's impact factor is 3.2, and the 5 year impact factor is 3.3.[2]

The Chief Editor of the journal since 2022 is Constantine A. Stratakis.[3] Previously, Andrew Margioris, the then dean of the Medical School of the University of Crete, served as Chief Editor for more than a decade from 2010 to 2022. Margioris is considered instrumental in the success of the journal internationally.

Hormones is one of the most prestigious endocrinology journals in Europe, and the most prominent journal of endocrinology in southeastern Europe. [4]
