Johan Siggesson (born June 11, 1977) is a Swedish nature and wildlife photographer. He has been a category winner in Travel Photographer of the Year[1], European Wildlife Photographer of the Year[2] and Malta International Photo Awards.[3] He has also been the overall winner of the Scottish Nature Photography Award.[4]
Biography[edit]
Siggesson was born in 1977 grew up with his older sister and parents in a middle class family in a residential town of Älvängen 30km north of Gothenburg, Sweden. After finishing the natural science program in high school he signed up for a 3 year college-course of Digital information production at University West where he was introduced to photography and graphic design. For a number of years he followed a career in graphic and web design until 2012, when he went on a photographic Safari to Kenya and fell in love with photography. He decided to change his life goals completely to pursue a career in nature and wildlife photography.
In March 2019 Johan was elected into Naturfotograferna /N.[5] Naturfotograferna /N is an association for Sweden's highest regarded nature photographers established in 1966.[6]
Works[edit]
Siggesson had published one book, It is the first book in a planned series of books highlighting Malta's natural history with the aim of raising awareness of the dwindling natural world of the Maltese islands.[7][8] Marvellous Malta - Where Wild Orchids Grow is a 176-page coffee-table book with a selection of photographs of Malta's wild orchids.[9][10][11].
