Mario Hossen born in 1971 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria is an Austrian Bulgarian violinist and conductor.
Biography[edit]
Hossen studied in Sofia, Vienna and Paris. At the age of eight he made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra.[1] Among his teachers are Michael Frischenschlager and Gérard Poulet.
Source research of Niccolò Paganini's works is the primary subject of Hossen's musical and creative endeavours.[2] He recorderd the world premiere of Paganini's most performed pieces for violin and orchestra in the original version: "Le Streghe", "I Palpiti", "Non più mesta" and of the "Religiosa introduzione al Rondò del Campanello" (Dynamic, 2017).[3] He is also a promoter and performer of the works of some great Bulgarian contemporary composers such as Marin Goleminov and Pancho Vladigerov.[4]
Hossen has participated as a musical guest to the TEDx event in (Sofia) TEDxVitosha on 27 January 2018 dedicated to "Happy People".[5]
He is artistic director of the oldest music festival in Bulgaria, the "Varna Summer International Music Festival".[6]
Violin and Strings[edit]
Hossen plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (Milan, 1749) on loan from the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, using exclusively Thomastik-Infeld violin strings.[1]
