Marjorie Barkentin (September 15, 1891 - February 26, 1974) was a press agent, artist, art restorer, and playwright who adpated part of James Joyce's Ulysses under the supervision of Padraic Colum into Ulysses in Nighttown.[1] It was staged off-Broadway in 1958[2][3] and reprised in 1974 on Broadway. Burgess Meredith directed the 1974 staging.[4][5] The 1974 show received Tony nominations (28th Tony Awards) including for Best Play.[6] She was photographed with Burgess, Zero Mostel, and Anne Meara at a rehearsal.[7] The show was reprised in 1989.[8]

Her husband, William Slater Barkentin (September 9, 1874 - February 1962), was an art restorer. He penned the Coca Cola trademark.[9] He was involved with the Birds of Albany Book?
