Mathayi Sunil  [1][2](born May 5, 1979) is an Indian playback singer, composer and folk artist from Kerala. born in Kunnathur Taluk, Malanada-Edakkadu, Kollam District. Sunil is the fourth of six children born to Ammanan and Ponnamma. 

Early Life[edit]

Sunil studied elementary schooling at Edakkadu UP School, high school and plus two at Jaya Jyothi Vocational Higher Secondary School, and UG (BA) at DB College Sasthamcotta, Kollam.

Music Career[edit]

Sunil was a member of the Thayillyam band, which was led by C. J. Kuttappan and Kanal Pattu Koottam.Now he is part of the Pattupura Folk Music Band, which is centred at Saasthamcotta, bagged "Yuva Prathibha Puraskaram" in 2015, which is initiated by the Folklore Academy.
