Onriva is an American AI-powered patented technology travel marketplace platform.[1] It is a centralized, open, neutral, and two-sided business travel ecosystem connecting business travelers directly to multiple travel suppliers.[2][3]
Overview[edit]
Onriva pulls inventory from numerous distribution sources, featuring more than two million travel suppliers and wholesalers,[3] into a single interface. The platform's sources include direct supplier channels, airlines via the New Distribution Capability standard, online travel agencies, global distribution systems, and travel management companies.[4]
Onriva uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to direct travelers to the options.[1] The platform has partnered with leading fintech companies like Fiserv.[1][5]
History[edit]
Vajid Jafri founded Onriva in 2016 and launched its business travel platform and marketplace in 2021. The company is headquartered in Foster City, California.[2][6][4]
In January 2022, Onriva reported significant product enhancements and strategic supplier partnerships with 3,500 small and medium-sized companies representing more than $3B in travel purchasing volume.[2][6]
Patents[edit]
Onriva holds three patents for its technology and marketplace, including US Patents, 10445665, 10510023, and 10922709.
- Travel Distribution System: October 15, 2019 - Patent #10445665
A Travel Distribution System can include searching for flights for airlines using new distribution capability (NDC) standards, a global distribution system (GDS) network, or using an Application program interface (API) or websites. Artificial intelligence can also assist in the search for the best matching of a customer's travel preference profile.[7]
- Obtaining Services From Product Providers: December 17, 2019 - Patent #10510023
It focuses that the product providers can offer matched prices for the products to the customers through a platform surveying the available prices from sales agents. The platform can determine the lowest prices from the sale agents and use this information to agree with the product providers to sell the products at compatible prices.[8]
- Merchandising Platform For Airline Industries: February 16, 2021- Patent #10922709
The patent ensures discounted ticket prices for flight itineraries are obtained by purchasing merchandise offered by the airlines or airline partners. For example, duty-free merchandise, souvenirs, or specialty items are purchased with flight tickets to lower the prices of flight itineraries.[9]
