Quasar J0529−4351 is the most extreme quasar known as of 2024. Its extreme apparent brightness made many surveyors and automated surveys mistake it for a star in our galaxy. This quasar has the largest known accretion disc, and highest absolute magnitude, and largest consumption rate, growing near the Eddington limit. It produces energy at rate of about 1 typical type II supernova per second, by consuming a solar mass per second, from its 7-lightyear in diameter disk.
