Chahine completed his medical doctor degree from the American University of Beirut[14] and went on to complete post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Miami[15], Harvard Medical School[16], Baylor College of Medicine[17] and UCLA[18]

Medical Career[edit]

Chahine's contributions to the field of cardiovascular disease are mostly known for his work on the delineation and treatment of coronary artery spasm, unstable angina[19] and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy..[20][21]

He was dean of the faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University between 1996 and 1999.[22]

He has taught at the UCLA[23] School of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine, where he tenured a full professorship.
