In the Mechanical Engineering Department of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering in Mysuru, India, Dr. S. A. Mohan Krishna is an associate professor and a scholar from Mysore. His accomplishments in engineering education, popularizing science, and communication have earned him multiple state, national, and worldwide accolades. He has served as an editorial board member for numerous prestigious national and international publications. His contributions to the fields of astronomy, popular science, and thermal engineering are well recognized. In 2003, Mohan Krishna obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), one of the esteemed institutions in Mysuru, Karnataka, India. He then went on to complete his M. Tech in Energy Systems from Sri Jayachamarajedra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru, Karnataka, India, in 2010, which is now JSS University of Science & Technology. Finally, he completed his Ph. D. from The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, Karnataka, India in 2017. Dr Mohan Krishna completed his doctoral degree in 2017 in the areas of Thermal Engineering and Computational Materials Science and the title of his doctoral thesis is ‘Thermal Characterization of Al 6061- SiC – Graphite Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites’. His area of interest in both teaching and research is mainly Thermal Engineering. Dr. Mohan Krishna has published over 100 papers in peer reviewed international journals and has presented papers at Qatar (ICAMR), Bangkok and Singapore (ICMAT) in international conferences and also national conferences in various parts of India. Few of his papers have very good citation and have been indexed in many international indexing agencies. He is in the editorial and reviewer board for over 110 reputed referred national and international journals including the most prominent namely Scopus, Thomson Reuters, Taylor & Francis, ASME, ASM International, Science Citation Index, Web of Science, Elsevier and Springer. Earlier, he had authored his three books in the stream of engineering with the titles, ‘A Text Book on Cryogenics’, ‘A Book on Illustrative Problems in Engineering Thermodynamics’ and ‘A Book for Competitive Examinations in Mechanical Engineering’. A book on ‘Computational Fluid Dynamics’ is in pipeline. He was also in the technical advisory committee for the international conferences held at Taiwan, South Korea, Vancouver and New Delhi. Mohan Krishna earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), one of the most esteemed universities in Mysuru, Karnataka, India, in 2003. He also completed his master's degree in energy systems from Sri Jayachamarajedra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru, Karnataka, India, in 2010, which is now known as JSS University of Science & Technology, and his doctorate from The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, Karnataka, India, in 2017. He began working at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) in 2005 as a lecturer and is currently an associate professor in the mechanical engineering department. Early Life[edit]

On October 6, 1980, in Mysore, he was born into the family of Sri S K Ananda Thirtha and Smt. S Anasuya. His parents are also educators. His initial goal was to play cricket, and he eventually hoped to become a brilliant student.

Research Acquaintance[edit]

In 2017, Dr. Mohan Krishna earned his PhD in Thermal Engineering and Computational Materials Science. "Thermal Characterization of Al 6061- SiC - Graphite Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites" is the title of his thesis. He uses computational, experimental, and theoretical methods in his study. During the course of his research, he developed very good relationships with a number of research-focused organizations, including Nanyang Technological University, National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), National Materials Laboratory (NML), National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Hindusthan Aeronautics Laboratory (HAL), National Physical Laboratory (NPL), National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), and National University of Singapore (NUS). Thermal engineering is primarily his area of interest in both teaching and research. Thermal energy, renewable sources, automotive mechanics, chirogenics, experimental heat transfer, Management of Electronic Equipment, Energy Conservation and Management, Gas Dynamics, Jet and Rocket Propulsion, Nanofluids, Heat Exchangers, Heat Sinks, Space Science & Technology, Materials Processing and Characterization, Universal Human Values and Thermal Characterization Techniques and computational fluid dynamics are some of the special themes covered.

Earlier, he was a good sportsman and had represented national level cricket in U-19 tournaments. Additionally, he is a science promoter, communicator and popularizer. Dr. Mohan Krishna has been a BoE (Board of Examiners) member for a few academic institutions. He is an educational consultant too. He has taken up a few engineering consultancy projects in the field of energy conservation and thermal engineering. He has the credit in getting published a patent under the title, ‘Development of an automated ploughing tiller’ in 2019 and Agricultural Mulching Machine in 2020 & the other two patents have been published. He has been responsible for making the students to take up innovative engineering projects and few of the projects have been highly appreciated and have been greatly recognized. He is also the part of Institution Innovation Council. He has initiated science and astronomy related initiatives and activities in Mysuru and has been instrumental in starting Mysore Astronomical Society and EUREKA Science Motivators. He has taken a few additional responsibilities in the institution and has taken initiatives. He has organized many national level faculty development programmers, student workshops, international conferences and international webinar exhaustively.
