Sentinel Property Group is a privately-owned Australian Real Estate Investment Trust (A-REIT), focused on opportunistic investments in Australia’s commercial property market.

History

Founded by CEO Warren Ebert, Sentinel commenced business in Brisbane in early 2010. The first acquisition was an industrial warehouse facility at Kerry Road, Archerfield, in Brisbane which was purchased for $17.6 million in January 2010. Sentinel has since purchased over 100 separate properties throughout Australia.

Sentinel currently owns the largest shopping centre in the Northern Territory, Casuarina Square in Darwin. which was purchased for $418 million in March 2022. The centre consists of a lettable area of 63,597 sqm, on a site of 11.79 hectares and is anchored by Woolworths, Coles, Kmart, Big W, and BCC Cinemas, with 190 supporting tenancies and a 303-bed student accommodation facility leased to Uni-lodge. Caneland Central Shopping Centre in Mackay in Queensland was acquired by Sentinel in December 2022 for $280 million. It dominates the Mackay retail market being the only regional-scale shopping centre in the region. It consists of a lettable area of 65,964 sqm on a site of 13.45 hectares, anchored by Woolworths, Coles, Target, Big W, and Myer, along with 12 mini-majors and 161 specialties. (2)
