Thomas Gates (d. May 8, 2024) was a Broadway stage manager whose stage and screen credits dated from 2001 included Newsies and Waitress among them.[1][2][3]

Gates died on May 8, 2024 when he was hit by a train. He was survived by his husband, Rick Steiger. The Broadway run of Illinoise is dedicated to Gates' memory.[2]

He was a 1995 graduate of Niagara University.[4]
