The Tranquil Valley Stompers were an influential trad jazz band, which played the London jazz circuits in the early 1960s. Hailing from London's Blackheath Village, they were a popular act with the local fans of London's jazz revival of the time. Featuring John Meehan on clarinet, Tony Canelle on bass and John Harty on the banjo, they took their name from Tranquil Vale - a popular street in the heart of Blackheath, where the band regularly played.
