Turna express train is also called Turna Nishita express.[1]

History[edit]

Turna Nishita was introduced as a inter-city train that offers quality food and fast service. Since its inauguration, the train had started from Dhaka Railway Station . Turna Nishita gets a normal Bangladesh Railway network. Its stops on more substations for travelers. The fare of the train is similar with Mohangor Godhuli/Provati and Mohanogor Express.From 2021,food price doesn't include with ticket supplied by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.

Accidents[edit]

  • April 1st, 2013: the train TURNA NISHITHA on 1st April 2013 which started from Kamlapur Railway Station Dhaka and towards Chittagong. It started 25 minutes late from it's scheduled time at (11:30pm). When it reached Comilla Station it was about to dawn. 15 minutes after leaving Comilla Station. The train derailed because of a sabotage.[2]
  • November 12th, 2019: At around 3 a.m., A Dhaka-bound Turna Express rammed the Chittagong-bound Udayan Express at Mondobhag railway station in Kasba Upazila, Brahmanbaria District. At least 16 people died and 73 were injured. Two coaches of Udayan Express were damaged.[3]

Carriages[edit]

The train currently runs with 19 Indonesia-made red-green PT INKA air-brake coaches. However, sometimes the train pulls up to 20-21 coaches if there is compelling demand. These coaches were imported in 2016. The carriages are:-

  • 8 Shovon Chair Carriages
  • 4 AC Chair Carriages
  • 3 AC Sleeper Carraiges
  • 2 Dining Carraiges
  • 1 berth sleeper carraige (1st)
  • 1 power carriage

Schedule[edit]

The Turna Express train departure Dhaka at 11:30 PM. Turna arrival Chittagong at 06:20 AM. On the other hand, Turna Express Departure Chittagong at 11:00 PM. This train arrival Dhaka at 05:15 AM. This train running time for 6 to 7 hours. [1]

Locomotive[edit]

Turna Express is hauled by a Class 3000 of Bangladesh Railway. The train needs an air-braked locomotive which is mandatory.
