UTCR.Live is the school radio station of UTC Reading.[1] It was founded on 15 January 2020. It has been running 24/7 since then. It was created by three students at the school; Benji, Reilly & Oli.[2] It remains fully independent of UTC Reading. This allows for objective opinions regarding the college.

Shows[edit]

UTCR.Live has a mix of regular content and one off episodes.[3]

Recurring Shows[edit]

  • The Morning Show - This show was UTC Reading's first show and ran on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's between 7 and 9am. The show was designed to get students up in the morning and combat lateness.
  • The Pop Rock Show - As the name may insinuate this show combines Pop music and Rock music alongside questionably witty commentary.
  • The Benji Hour - An hour with pop music and the executive producer talking to himself.
  • Big Family Quiz Night - Every Friday, the team hosts an interactive quiz on YouTube Live. [4] The prizes have ranged from Amazon vouchers to Easter hampers.
  • Dan's Lectures - The UTCR.Live politics correspondent, Daniel Bradley runs 2 lectures on a variety of topics a week. This started during the COVID-19 pandemic to help ensure that his politics class stayed together.
  • Dan McMenamin's Late Late Show - Daniel McMenamin provides us with some alternative music.
  • Cam's Very Epic Loud Show - Rock, Shouting and lord knows what else.

Interviews[edit]

Every Wednesday, the team interviews a different person. The content ranges from personal anecdotes to advice from industry partners as well as what's going on at the college.

Corporate Backing[edit]

Alongside receiving support from UTC Reading's Industry Partners[5], UTCR.Live is operated by XFour IT Limited[6].
