History[edit]

When Gus and Margaret Weller moved to Utah in 1925, they opened a used-furniture store. The store, owned and run by Gustav (Gus) Weller, naturally became a bookstore upon Gus's purchase of a collection of Utah & Mormon literature. With this, a used-furniture store became Zion's Bookstore,

Business booms through the 30s and by the end of the decade, the store has moved to a prime location on Main street in downtown Salt Lake City. A coffee shop is housed in the south west corner of the store facing outward to the street.
