Article apparently impossible to publish, because the New York time never made a portrait of the man[edit]
Finguerut has held, and continues to hold important positions at the UN, but has dedicated a life at keeping discret. I understand thin, but when you are head of UN institutions you must disclose some elements an it is logical to have a page on wikipedia. Unfortunately it is indeed hard to find him referenced in documets that fulfil the criteria of wikipedia. Does that mean he does not exist or does not have an important role and impact on thousands of people? No. But wikipedia rules seem to be more important than the actual relevance of persons, allowing to have lengthy articles on figures that are momentary stars on tiktok, forgotten in 2 years from now, but blocking an article about a high-level civil servant at the core of the United Nations system. Sad. [This here for later.]
Look for him onn google and you'll see "Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe. Learn more" which is a sign someone exercised rights to remove data from the google search. I'll try VPN to access these from other countries, but if it is a struggle between hiding information of public relevance from public view, vs public view… then I chose the latter and decide to engage in the battle. As boring as this person's life and wikipedia page may be, he IS relevant for an encyclopaedia. If rules do not capture that relevance, rules need update. On 18 Dec. 2023 his twitter bio said "Ex-Drugs, Crime & more... Likes & retweets not=endorsement! views own!" (which is relatively new, see archive). That suggests that he has retired by that time, although UNODC website does not provide information in this respect. Teluobir (talk) 20:30, 18 December 2023 (UTC).[reply]
