How about nearly the entire oeuvre of Sigur Ros? I mean, they have vocals (sort of...), and most of them have titles (though not the ones on ( )), but rarely does the title appear in the lyrics. zafiroblue05 | Talk 23:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not really lyrical--Work permit 21:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think eventually the list may need to be limited to recordings that charted as singles or cuts from albums that charted. Else there will be a plethora of songs no one has ever heard of, or posts by friends and family to get the artists some kind of exposure.BigJerME 04:11, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just added "The Crunge" by Led Zeppelin as "Crunge, The". Shouldn't songs that begin with an article be alphabetized by the first main word of the title?BigJerME 07:10, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it should be done to avoid a clutter of songs in the T section.Therealsquee 01:10, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cover Versions[edit]

I'd like to set a rule of thumb that only the original recording(s) by the original artist(s) is/are listed. Else this page could get somewhat over run by repeated listings. What d'yah say? Chilkoot 11:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that went as an unspoken rule, but will do.Therealsquee 19:50, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For that very reason, I listed Unchained Melody as "...and several other artists", because even though the Righteous Brothers version is the most widely known, there're about 496 other artists who've cut it too. Cross References[edit]

Should we also cross refer this article with a list of artists who have recorded songs whose title does not appear in the lyrics? Chilkoot 17:58, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. That would be loosely associated -- so what if an artist recorded one song with the title not in the lyrics? That's too loose an association. Ten Pound Hammer • (((Broken clamshells • Otter chirps))) 20:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
