Fred Smith (born 30 August 1941) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL)[1] and Sturt in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).

Recruited from North Reservoir Football Club, Smith won two best and fairests for the Collingwood Under 19s[2] before making his senior debut in Round 5 of the 1961 VFL season, against Fitzroy at Collingwood's home ground Victoria Park.[3]

Returning to the reserves, Smith's season was impacted by injuries and moved to Sturt for the 1962 season.[2] Smith won selection for South Australia and was named in the Adelaide Advertiser's Team of the Year.[2]
