Production[edit]
Simran reportedly okayed the film team after they reduced the size of her role. This was her last Malayalam film after marriage.[1]

Reception[edit]
A critic from Indiaglitz wrote that "The makers seemed to forget that, when dealing with younger stars the basic pillar of success of a movie definitely is a worthy plot and gripping sequences".[2] A critic from webindia123 wrote that "Ultimately, Heartbeats ends up as just another wannabe Classmates".[3]
