Marina Stakusic (Serbian Cyrillic: Марина Стакушић, romanizedMarina Stakušić; born 27 November 2004) is a Canadian professional tennis player.

Stakusic has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 201, and a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 448. She achieved a combined junior ranking of 31.

Career[edit]

She made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2022 Championnats de Granby[1] where she recorded her first tour-level main-draw win over Jaimee Fourlis.

Although Stakusic did not play any main-draw matches on the tour in 2023,[2] she was named to the Canada Billie Jean King Cup team during the BJK Cup finals in November 2023. She won three of her four singles matches, all top 60 opponents, and won a deciding match against Martina Trevisan in the final versus Italy, contributing to Canada's first victory in this competition.[3][4]

She qualified for her first WTA 500 tournament at the 2024 San Diego Open and defeated fellow qualifier Marina Melnikova, her second win in only her second main draw at a tour event.[5] As a result, she reached a new career-high singles ranking of No. 221, on 4 March 2024.

Personal life[edit]

Her brother, Marko Stakusic, is also a professional tennis player.
