Martin McHugh was an Irish psychologist.
Martin McHugh was born in Kilkeel. He was one of the first graduates in psychology from Queen's University Belfast.[1]
In 1971, he was appointed the first Professor of Psychology at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
McHugh was a founding member of the Psychological Society of Ireland which was established in 1970.[2] He was elected the inaugural President of the Society in 1973.[3][4]
He was the first Editor of the Irish Journal of Psychology.[5]
He died 17 February 2016.[6]
