Ethnicity[edit]

The Mawanella Polling Division has a Sinhalese majority (68.4%) and a significant Moor population (30.3%) . In comparison, the Kegalle Electoral District (which contains the Mawanella Polling Division) has a Sinhalese majority (85.5%) [1]
